Obtaining the certification via the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)

Define your project

Everyone's career path is unique. IPERIA will offer a tailored plan to promote your skills and help you identify your needs to address them effectively.

Project feasibility

An IPERIA career development advisor will guide you throughout your career path. He will work with you to determine your path based on your needs and the extent of your experience (professional, personal, or volunteer) relevant to the certification you’re seeking. Additional training may also be offered.

Support plans

Once approved, you will receive a personalized support plan from a training provider, which will assist you in :

  • Formalizing and showcasing your skills ;
  • Receiving training tailored to your needs ;
  • Preparing for your interview before a certification jury.

To guide you through your RPL, your IPERIA career development advisor will offer you one of the following support options :

20 hours (15 hours of group guidance + 5 hours of individual guidance)
Objectives :
  • Highlight skills based on your experience
  • Formalize and articulate your practice by describing specific work situations

  • Showcase your professional approach: independence, organization, communication, anticipation, and friendliness
  • Develop descriptive, analytical, reflective, communicative, and linguistic skills
  • Engage in self-questioning, self-explanation, self-information, meaningful actions, and self-valuation

28 hours (18 hours of group guidance + 10 hours of individual guidance)

Interview with the jury

The interview with the jury members will give you the opportunity for you to showcase all the skills listed in your application.

The jury consists of employee representatives, employers, and a member from IPERIA.

Assessment of your RPL process

Regardless of your jury result, you will be offered a post-jury interview with your IPERIA sectoral career guidance and development advisor.

This meeting will allow you to take stock of your journey, identify the next steps and explore the opportunities available to you :

  • Continue your skills development
  • Be supported in the development of your professional activity
  • Prepare a new presentation to the jury if necessary

Funding

Admissibility support

Whatever your professional situation, you can benefit from support to prepare for the admissibility phase of your RPL process.

Support in drafting the file and presenting it to the jury

Are you an employee of a private employer? Take advantage of free RPL support, supported by the industry as part of the skills development plan.
If additional training is required, you can benefit from up to 58 hours of training per year, whether for a certified course or not.

Certification is essential to get certified to advance in your career and effectively market yourself to employers—gaining their trust, reassuring families, negotiating your salary, and more. It is therefore essential to be certified to progress and sell yourself to employers and to gain their trust, reassure the family, negotiate your salary, etc. Early in my career, I started attending training courses to address challenges I faced at work, like assisting people with disabilities or handling specific equipment. Obtaining certification through RPL was a natural progression in my professional development, and in 2013, I further upgraded my skills with the "Dependency Personal Carer” qualification.
